LIUNA California and Indiana Members Set World Records

LiUNA Local 300 members and other union workers broke the world record for the largest concrete pour ever for the new Grand Wilshire hotel in Los Angeles, California. Members worked for 18 hours straight to complete the 21,200 cubic yards pour. LiUNA Local 120 members also made history by setting three new world records in tunnel construction with other union workers. The three new world records occurred on the $180 million dollar Deep Rock Tunnel Connector project, the first of five tunnels in the Citizens Energy Group combined sewer overflow project. They set the following three new records:

• Most Feet Mined in One Week – 1,690.04 Feet
• Most Feet Mined in One Month – 5,755.15 Feet
